Day 7 (our last full day in Amsterdam) was our trip to Antwerp, Belgium. We just wanted to maximize our stay actually and Antwerp was the nearest outside of Netherlands - around 2hrs by high speed train. Picture above was our last breakfast from Mrs. Sprangers - sigh I will really miss this kind of breakfast :-)
Breakfast on the train again! hehe
The Amsterdam Crew (hehehe) - Johann took the picture...
More waffles! Belgian waffles this time...
The train station itself was a tourist attraction to me -
super beautiful with a gothic "batman" feeling hehe.
Humongous meatballs...
They had a hop-on hop-off bus which we decided not to take anymore as there's nothing much to see in Antwerp anyway (I think). Plus, the bus looked dilapidated...
Leonida's! I remember doing a chocolate review on Leonida's in this post and giving them a dismal rating, but it wasn't so bad actually the second time I tried it. Well, I guess the shipping to Singapore alters the taste of the chocolate (maybe?)...
We knew there was a famous Cathedral in Antwerp and thought this was the one but it turned out to be a shopping strip... yey anyway! hehe
Longchamp was much cheaper, not surprisingly... My brother bought a few pieces to sell back in the Philippines...
Aileen, Johann wasn't really taking your picture hehehe...
Shnnacckk time! What's new...
Last stop at the grocery... As I always say, I love local groceries! I always make it a point to visit one when I travel. Plus, everything is much cheaper compared to touristy places...
Not sure why they overbook the trains when we had tickets beforehand... We had to stand for like an hour (with excruciatingly painful feet from walking all day) before we could find seats. It was my first time to visit 2 countries in Europe and I didn't know you don't have to go through immigration or "borders" when crossing to a different country... how convenient! :-) No one even checked our train tickets to and fro Belgium, so I wonder if some people just take the train for free, could be?
So that's it! Finally I finished all entries, whew! hehe. Up next is my post on my cousin's blissful wedding in Boracay last January plus my trip to Hongkong (after 9 years!) in early March. :-)
Happy Travels to everyone! :-)

Hi Shan! I love Antwerp for shopping too. And the food is much better than in Amsterdam.
If you took the international train, it's €4 additional to reserve a seat. Then you'll see a car number and seat numbers on your ticket. Good to know for your next train trip in Europe :)
Hi Deepa! Wow im starstruck you commented on my blog hahaha. I was totally wrong about saying there is nothing much to see in Antwerp when I read your blogposts about this place. We just didn't have enough time as we were just there for a day :)
Thanks for the train tip! no wonder haha. I'll make sure to remember for next time.
