Seems like the trend now in the Philippines is to have an out-of-town wedding. And why not? With the vast expanse of greenery and beaches in our 7,000+ islands, you have endless choices. My cousin Quincy, did just that. Last Jan. 28, he had one of the most blissful weddings I have ever attended. In fact, my first ever beach wedding :-).
(This post is picture-heavy. Boracay is too beautiful I had a hard time editing out my pictures.)
We flew in via Kalibo and took a 1.5hr bus ride (P350, around S$10.50) to Caticlan. At the Caticlan port, you need to pay P50 terminal fee, P75 environmental fee, and the boat I think was P50 (or was it P100?). It was a quick 15min boat ride to Boracay Island. Unlike the first few times I went to Boracay many years ago, there is only one port now in Boracay (where as before, you could get down on white beach itself).
My aunt paid for our accomodations and we stayed at Fairways and Bluewater (thanks Aunty Teody!). It was a huge 3 bedroom suite with your own kitchen and veranda.
The place wasn't bad at all but honestly it looked better in pictures. It seems like this place has seen better days. I think it's high time to refurbish this place.
We weren't really able to eat a proper meal having an early flight (and me coming straight from Singapore since the night before) so we were famished! :-P Surprisingly but to our delight, Shakey's delivers! :-)
We arrived on a Friday, just in time for Q and Pearl's pre-wedding day cocktail party at Two Seasons...
Love this picture!!! (Johann slept til evening so he didn't make to the cocktails)
L-R: Matt, Q, Me, Uncle Don, Bill, Aileen, Mike & Alvin; Kath took the pic

Aww, we haven't had a family picture in a while...
Each table had a disposable camera...
Sparklers to welcome the newly-weds!
Fire dancers...
The couple lit paper lanterns at the beach...
Aaannnndddd more drinks....
Goofing around some more...
And yes I just had to throw the bouquet... heheheh :-P
The next day I was so happy I could just do nothing at the beach and pool...
Fairways had their own beaches (yes beacheS!) and it was astonishing!!!
Plus, we had it ALL to OURSELVES!!!
This was just one of their astounding beaches...
Tummy made a peek-a-boo hahaha
Aaaaahhhh, this is the life....
Awww, going back after 4 days in paradise.
The Kalibo airport looked much better than the last time I was here.
I had a 4.5hr layover before my flight back to Singapore and I'm sooo thankful to my BFF Cathy for picking me up at the airport and keeping me company for an early dinner at Resortsworld.
Good thing Karen was in the area so she was able to join us...
So that was my quick trip to Boracay and my cousin's beautiful wedding. It sure was great to have a break and bond with family at the same time. I won't deny that it was tiring though. Can you imagine I left Boracay at 10:30am and arrived in Singapore 1:30am the following day. Worse, I had training at 8:00am. Ugh!! But I'm not complaining, just saying hehehe.
As I mentioned before, in about 2 weeks, I'll be visiting my friend JP in Hongkong. Aren't we all thankful for budget airlines?! hehe. Seriously, the advent of budget airlines has made travelling easier and more importantly, more affordable! :-)
