Yesterday was the first round of auditions for the Filipino Idol here in Singapore. It isn't really a nationwide singing contest but rather a contest among the filipino community here. They've been holding this contest for 5 years now and the winner takes home $1,500, roundtrip ticket to Manila & TV guesting in the Philippines. Hmmm, I have a feeling it's a TV guesting in one of the ghetto local networks hehehe... But hey, $1500 is not bad huh?!
So I passed the 1st round of auditions and made it to top 15! Yahoooo!!!! For crying out loud, I would be so damn pissed if I didn't make it since there were only 22 people who auditioned hehehe.. For those who don't know, I've been joining singing contests since time immemorial. In fairness to me, I've been able to sing in Hard Rock Cafe in Manila and the biggest contest I've joined was the Call Center Idol where I represented our company of 7,000 people hehe (There were around 15 call center representatives in the finals, and as usual I didn't win).
So there will be another round of auditions next week, then the quarter finals on Nov.30 will be for all the winners of the rounds of auditions from where they will select the top12. The top12 will then compete in the semi-finals till the grand finals on March 2009 next year. I don't understand why there are so many damn rounds, it's almost as stiff as "Pinoy Idol" (our local version of American or Singapore Idol in the Philippines).
So guys wish me luck!!! For those in Singapore who would like to watch me perform in the next rounds please holler at me, drinks and tickets are on me!! hehehe :-) Now I really have to take my weight loss seriously!!!
