Well finally! After more than a year since our Dubai trip, I finally found time to post this! Hehehe. I'm sorry! As if anyone really cares haha.
Above photo is the spectacular SimCity-like view from Ryan & Al's apartment - our gracious host in Dubai. We also used to be flatmates here in Singapore before they moved to Dubai.
We had welcome wine upon arrival from the Airport. They have a really nice flat with an amazing view of the city skyline.
Of course you can't go to Dubai without trying the Desert Safari. To be honest, it was just okay. I think it would be more fun if you and your friends occupy the entire vehicle. The thing is we were in the SUV along with other people so we had to restrain ourselves from screaming and shouting at the top of our lungs haha. I enjoyed the photo op at the desert though.
We also got to see Ski Dubai at the Dubai Mall. We didn't really try it but we got to view the place as Cheesecake Factory is right below the slope.
Outlet shopping is one of the things I most enjoyed in Dubai. I didn't think I would be able to shop there actually but yes they do have plus size clothing hehe, amongst many other things.
The Atlantis at Palm Jumeirah was also a sight to behold. I would have wanted to stay here one night if not for the ridiculous prices haha.
Patchi was so much cheaper in Dubai so we hoarded these haha. I remember blogging about them, click here. They used to be located at Takashimaya but are not there anymore. I'm not even sure if you can get Patchi anywhere here in Singapore.
The Dubai Aquarium at the Dubai Mall was ginormous. You can actually just view it from the outside without having to pay to go in.
You had one job (haha) |
This was outside the Dubai Mall where you can watch the dancing musical fountains which are similar to the ones in Las Vegas (which I haven't seen haha).
And of course, the iconic Burj Khalifa which is currently the tallest building in the world. You definitely have to go up the viewing deck, it is so worth the long lines. Good thing is you can book your viewing time to minimize the wait. Kindly visit the website for more information hehe.
This was at brunch at Pullman Hotel Deira City Centre. I have an impression that people there enjoy having brunch (similar to those who can afford in Singapore) but it is much more affordable there. This was at the Medley restaurant. Must try!
I vowed that when I return to Dubai, I will make sure to stay a couple nights at the Jumeirah Beach. It was so nice! Clear blue waters and white sand. I never thought Dubai had such nice beaches actually.
I also got to try Shake Shack at Jumeirah beach for the first time. Yum! #foodporn
Wild Wadi Waterpark was definitely the most fun activity we did in Dubai. I super dooper enjoyed it! Definitely the most recommended place to go to when in Dubai.
Not so obvious that I had so much fun right? hahaha. Drown yourself in sunscreen lotion as you will surely get a tan in Dubai's scorching heat.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah is an upscale commercial area with hotels, restaurants and retail outlets. Too bad we didn't get to spend a lot of time here so I will also make sure to drop by this place again when I'm back in Dubai.
This astonishing view is from the viewing deck of Burj Khalifa. The many traces of sand reminds you that Dubai IS a desert city.
Watch out for my next post on Abu Dhabi where we visited the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
