Anyway, just a few pics below from our first day here. Can I just say the Dutch are uber fashionable! It's already fall here and WOW they really know how to dress up. Plus they are really tall and goodlooking! hahaha. I still can't believe I'm here. It's my twin brother's first time in Europe and he is going through an out-of-body experience as he also can't believe he's here.
I'm really thankful that we're able to go on this trip as a family, along with my aunt, uncle and cousin. God is good. Sorry to be sentimental but I remember the times when we had no money and my mom had to pawn her jewelry just to get by. Bob, my stepdad, has really helped us a lot in life. We wouldn't have been able to finish University if it weren't for him. And because of that I'm able to work in Singapore and pave a better life for myself. So kids stay in school!! haha. Anyway, forgive me for being mushy, it's freakin 5 in the morning and still dark :-P. Enjoy the pics!! :-)
I had a 3-hr layover in Kuala Lumpur.. Beautiful airport...
Touchdown in Amsterdam...
Our very nice driver Juan (peeping from the back)...
Make sure to get your holland pass! Really worth it...
Johann going up the steep and narrow steps at our B&B... I can't imagine how you can manage this when you're pissed drunk haha...
Our beautiful B&B... The owner Mrs. Sprangers was also very nice :-), they live upstairs...
Johann and Bob
My 1st pic in Amsterdam haha...
We got there around 10.30am... Our first stop was at the nearby grocery for supplies...
Cold cuts and sausages...
I was happy to see asian food... NASI GORENG!! :-P
Back at the B&B - The Vondelpark Suites
My traditional shot from the balcony haha
Waiting for the tram... you can get a 24-hr tram ticket for 7 euros...
Dam Square... there happened to be a fair with crazy rides!
Too scared to try this, I don't want to fall to my death yet haha...
My beautiful mom at the horror house...
YUMMERS!!!
More YUMMERS!!!
I think it's safe to say Amsterdam is the Bike Capital of the world haha...
And of course, sex toys haha...
Look for the department store at Dam Square in front of the monument, they had most name brands... LV was much cheaper!! I didn't buy of course hehe...
Lovely canals...
We were having fish and chips by the canal...
And of course every city will always have a Chinatown haha...
Pictures from the red light district are in my brother's borrowed camera (thanks Aileen!!). I was in culture shock!!! They had windows where you could pick girls in all shapes and sizes haha. And seriously they were VERY beautiful!!! My brother's saliva was dripping the whole time hahaha. Plus, people smoking weed everywhere looked like they were just smoking normal cigarette. Ironically, it feels safe and the people seem disciplined and friendly to tourists (aside from the litter on the floor). It's also great most people can speak English unlike when I was in Spain or Turkey.
More to come later.... :-)
